CHORAL AWARD
The award is given on the recommendation of the adjudicators for the best overall performance by a choir aged 19 years and under. Five percent (5%) of the choir membership may exceed the specified age limit.
To be eligible for the award a choir shall have received an average of at least 85 marks in each class in which it sang, provided it did not receive less than 80 marks in any one selection.
The adjudicators shall, inter alia, consider the degree of difficulty of music performed and the versatility and standard of musicianship displayed by a choir in the classes in which it performed, even though it may not have received the highest mark in any class. Though it is envisaged that choirs eligible for the award will be entered in more than one class in the Festival, the adjudicators are not precluded from considering and recommending that the award be made to a choir entered in only one class, provided that in that class the choir sang not less than two contrasting selections.
The 2025 Choral Award of $300 was sponsered by Camber Arts.
